CROSSING THE SCREEN is an international film festival

Festival 2016

Crossing the Screen Film Festival 2016
The 1st edition of the festival was held at the Birley Centre, in Eastbourne (East Sussex), in November 2016.
Since its first year, the festival received unanimous praise for its high-quality film programme, establishing itself as the first international short film festival of Eastbourne.

XTS16 brought in the beautiful coastal town of Eastbourne 90 outstanding international and British short films, divided into two sections (competitive and non-competitive).
Collateral events during the festival included the screening of a selection of short films, curated in collaboration with ‘FilmTwine’® and with ‘Shortfilms Africa’. Plus the special screening of the documentary Feature ‘ Before the Flood’, starring Leonardo Di Caprio.

The festival also offered a “Virtual Reality Lab” – run in collaboration with 360Events and accredited by Creative Skillset – that offered selected participants the chance to develop a relevant set of skills in Virtual Reality Filmmaking.
Created for emerging industry professionals and film students, ‘Crossing The Screen – VR Lab’ was a 2-day intensive workshop offering its members a hands-on training with 360° camera systems and post-production technologies.

The 1st edition of Crossing the Screen took place from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 November 2016.
